San Diego: Day One

After a good night's sleep, we headed to Legoland! What a fun place!! We actually timed it perfectly..who knew... but all the California kids started school the week we were there. The park was dead and there was hardly ever a wait longer than 15 mins for a ride. Simply ideal for us and our unpatient little Luke. It's a "younger" park and I loved that Mylie could go on pretty much everything! Luke was able to ride a bunch too. We had too much fun.

Luker, granola bar in hand and ready for a day at Legoland.
This girl too..
Soakin the gators..
Apparently, this lion was hungry.
Our dare devil... Mylie LOVED everything. The rollercoasters especially.. anything that would give her a thrill. We had the best time with this crazy girl.
Pretty good driver.. although I'm not ready for this just yet.
Best part of Legoland... they have a lego playing section for the kids while the parents wait in line. Best idea ever.
Our serious boat driver.
We left the park and hit up Costco for lunch. Smart, huh? Our whole meal cost $10... we would've spent that on one meal at the park! After lunch, we headed to the Legoland Water Park.
This guy was in heaven.
After much convincing, Mylie finally went on the slides and loved it too!

Quick change and ready to hit more rides.

Luke HAD to push his stroller. Yeah, you know what that means. Good thing the park was dead.. he ran into anyone he came across. We couldn't have that...

which resulted in this...

Waiting to ride through the safari... seriously.. love these three more than anything.

I loved seeing everything made out of Legos! The animals were amazing.

Luke and I followed in a car behind these two cute people.
I love the unique plants at amusement parks. Legoland was lush and beautiful!

We closed the park down... what a blast! On the way home, we went to Carlsbad State Beach Park. There was something so relaxing about ending such a busy day with such a picturesque view. The kids played and played in the sand. I enjoyed watching them from a blanket for quite some time before we all got our toes wet together. I kept reflecting on how much I love my family... I hate that time feels like it's slipping away from us. I couldn't help but relish in the moment and how much I love my kids. A moment I'll never forget.

On the way home from the beach, we stopped at some hole-in-the-wall taco shop. My goodness.. the most amazing tacos I've ever had!! We ordered a shrimp taco, salmon taco, lobster taco and calamari taco and devoured them together when we got home. Beyond amazing. Way beyond. The calamari taco was my fav!!
