Thanksgiving in a nutshell...
This man babied his turkey.. brined it... loved it.. rubbed it.. and boy did all that work pay off!
Mom and I hit up Mitzi's turkey day workout.. man.. it was a rough one. But it was so fun to burn some great calories before the feasting began. Justin hit up some flag football as well that morning. We were so happy that he returned injury-free.
Our menu.. not to brag, but yes it was all fabulous! The best part was, we each pitched in... Justin deep-fried the yummiest turkey.. Mom made wonderful stuffing, potatoes, gravy, dessert dumplings... Trev added some yummy brussel sprouts to the mix and helpings hands... I made the sweet potatoes, rolls, salad, cranberries.. Boys brought yummy Costco pie...Harmons contributed nice appetizers. It was a group effort through and through.

Justin's beauty. Deep-fried. Creole butter injected. Wow. All that hard work paid off. It was the most moist and picture perfect turkey ever. The kids were pumped to eat this guy.. and boy did they eat. Turkey only. :)
We did have one casualty... our sweet potatoes didn't quite make it to the table. I accidentally placed them on a burner that wasn't turned off... didn't notice.. thought the smoke was just steam. Mom saw it smoking like crazy and tried to pull it off the burner.. and BANG.. the whole thing exploded... glass went everywhere. Bummer. Best news.. they are super easy to make and we'll just add them to the menu soon.
Our lovely relish tray. How cute is that? Trev did all the work cutting it up and Mom put her artistic skills to work.
Trev, Kathy (Trev's Mom) and Drew enjoying some appetizers..
My sweet girl... ready to eat. Both kiddos were awesome during all the preparations. They didn't even mind that we pushed their lunch time back to 3pm. Love my kids.
Crazy Uncle Adam.
In the middle of the feast.. should have taken a picture of the spread.. but it didn't last long. We did have TONS of leftovers though.
Our mess of a kitchen.. waiting for us. I love our dining room. We can enjoy a beautiful meal without the dishes staring at us..they just wait patiently in the next room. We baked what we could the day before.. including our best Tea Rings yet. Yum! It was nice having a yummy calorie-filled breakfast to add to the day. :) Our pre-cooking helped a lot the day of. We were all busy.. but not crazy, bite-everyone's head off busy. :)
After devouring desserts, the boys left..Mom and Trev took Kathy home.. and our little family watched Elf. Our little guy didn't last very long...
Apparently, I didn't either.
What a lovely Thanksgiving Day. Great food. Great company. Great Memories.
