Black Friday

First. time. ever.  And seriously, kinda cool.

We tossed the idea around in our minds a few days before Thanksgiving... trying to warm up to the idea.  I'm a girl who loves her sleep. Needs her sleep. But for some reason, I was pretty excited about this one, up until the moment we left. :) We really didn't have anything in particular we wanted to buy, besides some LeapFrog games for Mylie.  They were $10 off!

Because we didn't know what to expect... our plan was this.. hit up Target at the district.. and if we were "feelin it" we'd head to Macys too.

We took an hour power nap and set our alarms for 11:50pm.  We threw on some sweatshirts, coats and headed out.

We were beyond shocked when we arrived at Target.  The line extended all the way past Harmons... into the drive thru pharmacy.  Seriously! We drove down the line and were amazed.  What did all these people want this bad to wait out in the cold that long??? No thank you!

We threw the towel in at Target and headed to Macys.  We had to park pretty far out, but things were already looking better.. no lines.

When we got to the kid/home floor, it got a little crazy.   People were everywhere.  We walked around like lost sheep.  No clue what to do or what even to look at.  We looked at a few kitchen appliances I needed... tried to find Mylie a new bedspread, but we failed on all accounts.  We lost our groove.

Then..we ventured to the kid's department and found some really great deals for the kids.  We also found new flatware (my set has disappeared the past year) which was $50 off... some Christmas decorations and more.  Worst part was.. the check out.  But we survived.

By this time it was 3am.   A much better time.  The lines died down.. and the store was no longer stacked with people.  We headed over to Target to continue the fun, but not before we stopped at the gas station for some Diet Coke and some snacks.  Thanksgiving dinner wasn't sitting too well at this point for any of us. Trev was actually breaking out in cold sweats.  Kinda funny at 3am.  Sorry, Trev.  I think it's because we were supposed to be in bed!

Now.. our range of emotions for the night was hilarious.  We could actually feel the swing kick in when our Diet Coke wore off. Wish I had that stuff in an IV! Our mood swings were a little like this...

Overwhelmed.  Excited. Annoyed. Exhausted. Pumped. Chatty. Sick. Half asleep.  Etc. Repeat.

On the way home, we had stop at "my" Target at the district for a few more things the other was out of. Let me tell you.  We have the best Target ever.  Forget South Jordan.  Ours still had plenty of the doorbusters at around 5am.

Our Target from 5-6am.  Sports Authority from 6-7am.

What a night. We laughed hard and had a great time.  We came home, filled our tummies with Tea Ring and headed right to bed.  I was able to sleep from 7:30-11am, which was wonderful.  I definitely felt the affects for the next few days.

I'm actually kinda jazzed to try it again next year.

Thanks for the fun Mom & Trev.  We rocked it!
