I am pretty accustomed to being apart of every milestone in my children's lives. That's the benefit of being a stay-at-home mom. I love it! I'm grateful that I can be here and enjoy the simple things. Those milestones and exciting moments are what get me through the rough days.
However, it does make me feel bad for Justin sometimes. More often than not, we try to reenact the excitement of a certain something that the kids accomplish. It's just not the same.
Well.. it was my turn to be in his shoes.
While I was at TOFW, Luke had his first major "potty" experience! I can't believe I missed it. To be honest, it made me a little sad.
Sure enough, this cute boy went #1 and #2 on the potty! Luke loves having his own little potty and doesn't even seem to mind that it's pink.
Apparently, this girl was a super great helper. Sitting with Luke, encouraging, taking him and etc. I think she's almost as excited for Luke as we are. Tender girl.
On Sunday, I let Luke roam naked for a while.. the true test to see if he's really ready. Unfortunately, he isn't fully aware of when he's peeing... so we're putting this milestone on hold for a while.
There are many reasons why I would love Luke to be potty-trained. Most of them self explanatory. But.. he's also reached down his pants a few times after he's pooed. Seriously. Seriously disgusting.
His big sister also started this same habit when she was his age. I remember Mylie smearing it all over her crib during nap time more than once. Just thinking about it makes me want to vomit. Luckily, he hasn't done that.. just yet.
I'm ready for Luke to be ready... but he's not.
So.. for now.. I'll just continue to watch him like a hawk when he's doing his business and hope I get to it before he does!

NO WAY! Luke on the potty! I will be so jealous if you can get him to this regularly :). Way to go Luke... what a big boy!
