Oh... where to begin.. our days at the beach in SC were heavenly. Of course, there were record temperatures when we were visiting.. one day the heat index was 112. Yes, it was hot and humidity is NOT my friend. But.. the beach made it all okay. The combination of the perfect breeze and water to cool down in made it all bearable. We went to the beach most days.. our kiddos just couldn't get enough. Even after a week of it.. they still wanted more.
Actually.. that first night we checked in.. that's where you could find us.. on the moonlit beach.
Pure heaven.
We captured so many fun moments... I'll try to just share the highlights. Try.
These two could dig in the sand all day long..
These two could dig in the sand all day long..
And of course.. help from Dad was the best.
We scoured the beach for hours looking for treasures. Our favorites... crabs.. conchs...many other sea shells.. live sand dollars.. and other itty bitty creatures. So fun!
Most days you'd find me under our lovely shade. Yes, my shade made the packing list. Luckily, it slipped right in with Justin's golf clubs.
Don't think this girl could get any cuter or happier!
This guy loved flying the 'Cars' kite from Nana.
Amazingly enough, he would stand for quite some time.. just holding it.
And Mylie was content just to play on her own as well.
The cousins bonded tons too.
And of course, Mylie and Luke spent some time with the seagulls.
They are obsessed with them! But not as obsessed as the seagulls are with popcorn.
After the feasting was done.. these guys didn't hesitate to chase 'em down.
Lots of splashing...
And so many cute cousin moments. Sweet Garrett and Luke.
Luke's a lucky guy to have such a fun cousin who includes him.
Side note... despite all this sun.. the kids didn't even get sunburned once! Go us! More smiles..
And more smiles from them too.
My two guys.. running their hearts out. It's amazing how effortlessly kids run in the sand! I'm afraid of what I look like.
The sand dollars were so cool.
He thinks so too. Justin devoted lots of time to taking care of those guys, as well as the conch shells. The sand dollars had to be soaked for days and then bleached. He had to boil the conch shells to get those little conchs out. It was so cool to see them. We had quite a few shells that had crabs in them as well. Loved it all.
And some splashing Papa time too. Love that warm Atlantic Ocean water.
Oh.. our days at the beach were hot and full of fun! Needless to say, everyone slept great.
