Our little... BOY!!

At my 17 wk doc appt, we had the option of paying a few bucks for a 'gender check'.  I couldn't pass it up! I've been dying to know what gender our little babe is.  We decided to bring Mylie along for the fun.  From the beginning, she's been convinced it's a girl.

As we bounded into the doctors office, Mylie exclaimed, "Ohh.. I hope it's a girl!!" I couldn't wait to bring her hopes into reality.. as I also had the hunch it was a girl.

During the ultrasound, Mylie sat patiently... beaming with excitement.  As the tech found the image above and announced, "It's a BOY!" Mylie didn't even flinch.  Poor girl.  She was soooo disappointed. Justin and I tried to be positive and excited as we watched our little guy on the screen.  My heart ached for her a little... I wanted her to have a sister.  There's something so special about a sister. We reaffirmed her that she's such a good sister to her brother and she'd be equally as awesome this time around.

When the ultrasound started, our little boy was pretty mellow.  As things progressed... boy oh boy.. he started moving.. squirming like crazy! I've never seen a baby move like that.  Both sets of arms and legs were going... he was arching, twisting, and flipping.  He sure is loving his space in there right now.  Mylie loved watching him squirm around and started to love her brother instantly.

After we took a few pics of the little guy, Justin headed back to work while Mylie and I headed upstairs for the rest of my check up.  When my OB came in, she asked what we found out and if we were excited. I slyly motioned that Mylie wasn't thrilled.  My doc didn't even hesitate to say... "Oh.. you don't want a sister.  Then you'd have to share all your dresses.. and shoes... and makeup!" She was talking Mylie's language! From that moment on, Mylie hasn't even thought twice about having a sister! My OB saved the day!

Luke's reaction is a completely different story.  I went to pick him up from a friend's house afterwards and I let Mylie share the news.  My cute Luker gave the biggest smile/face scrunch he could muster! It was to die for! He's excited... and more than a little bit.  We talked the rest of the day about how he was going to play basketball with the baby and teach him how to play cars.  When Luker talked to Papa Blackner that night, and he asked Luke about having a baby brother, Luke said, "Yeah, we play basketball." It was too cute.

Mylie keeps saying, "I'm excited for a baby brother! What are we going to name him??" It's on her mind all the time.  I think she asked me that at least 5 times today! Her suggestion yesterday was Bernard.  I couldn't help but laugh.  Needless to say, it won't be Bernard.

So.. that's the story.  Another spunky, crazy, darling little boy is joining our family in October.  I am thrilled! I'm so grateful for a healthy baby boy thus far.  I'll have my official 20 week ultrasound later in the month.

Now.. onto naming this cute boy...

Little profile..

His seriously arching action... I've never seen this before on an ultrasound!

He went into this position literally seconds after arching.. I'm in trouble when I can start to feel his movement regularly!

Hooray!!! You are sooooo excited for you! We can't wait to meet this new little man. I must admit, I am a little worried for you when this little wrestler start to get bigger. Let's just hope he wants to nap more the tighter it gets in there :). We can definitely relate to Mylie. Abigail knows the feeling all to well... a couple of times. But Mylie is going to love being the princess of the family :). We love you guys so much and are so excited for you!!!

OH I LOVE THIS STORY!!!!!!!!!!!! It made me laugh, cry a little, and bought so much joy at the same time! True there is nothing like a sister ^^^^^ :p But maybe next time! ;) and regardless if Mylie only has lil' brothers, she is one of the best Big Sisters I know! :p I LOVE that Luke is so excited about having a brother (it's gonna be so fun to watch them grow up doing things together!-Hope they have a close bond like Justin and Josh do!) That is too cute that Mylie likes that name! Kids come up with some crazy names, huh!? We are soo happy to find out what this little mover looks like and to watch him grow! We love you all!

Hooray, a boy! How exciting! Those pictures are awesome... my most calm inside has been my craziest outside, so maybe the same will be true for you - busy on the inside and mellow on the out :).
