In bloom..

It's been a little overwhelming landscaping our backyard over the last few years.  Neither Justin or I have a 'green thumb' and we're really good at killing what we plant. Last fall we decided to tackle the backyard one flower bed per year.  It seemed like a reasonable and feasible way to chip away at it.

We went to a local nursery and tried to choose the best options for our full sun, bake everything to death backyard.  We had high hopes for our little shrubs and prayed that the money we invested wouldn't go to waste.

We've been pleasantly surprised this year. Not only did they survive, but they're beautiful!

This is our cute Dwarf Tinkerbelle Lilac.. love these pretty pink flowers.

I can't remember what this one is called for the life of me! Pregnancy brain. Anyway, we love it. :)

Our criteria for these shrubs: drought-tolerant, full sun, flowering, super fast growing.  Tall order.  It's hard living in the desert! But, we lucked out.  Love the color these babies add to our backyard.

Now onto this year's project... hmm...
