First Day of Preschool

I can't believe it. My baby girl is going to preschool. Doesn't Mylie look so grown up?? Mylie was so excited to go to school! She kept talking about everything that she remembered from the open house. The rat named snowball and the kitchen among other things. She wanted to wear her favorite blue dress and wore her backpack most of the morning.

The nervousness set in for me early in the morning. By the time it was time to go, I was completely nauseous and had the sweatiest palms! You would've thought it was my first day.

When we arrived, Mylie immediately wrapped her arms around my thigh. I was worried she'd never let go! We walked in, Mylie got a name tag, and we headed over to the kitchen. She still had a death grip on my leg. I finally convinced her to play with the kitchen and she started. Once she was a little distracted, I started to walk away... she then put her hands up by her mouth (her nervous face) and she said, "You and Luke go to work and then come back and get me." I said "Okay. Have fun. We love you." And she hesitantly waved goodbye.

That was it! I was positive she'd be the kid screaming for their mom, but she wasn't! When I got back to the car, I couldn't control my emotions. I was so proud of Mylie... for how brave she was and how she handled her fear so well.

Mylie wasn't very talkative after I picked her up, but she said she loved it. I kept asking her questions.. apparently too many because after a while she said, "I don't want to talk about it anymore!" Whoops! Mylie loves to share details.. on her terms. I'm learning to accept that.

I'm so excited for Mylie and this new phase of her little life. I'm so blessed to be her mom. I'm amazed at how much matures and grows every day. I'm so grateful for Father's Blessings... I know she did so well because she received a blessing from her Dad the night before.

We love you Mylie!!

Way cute. I love it that everything has to be on Mylie's terms. :) Makes for some creative mommy ideas. YAY.. for preschool.
