Texas - the fun begins

My birthday celebration continued, yet again, thanks to Papa who sent me and the kids to Texas to visit the Wirthlins. We made sure our trip aligned with Grammie's trip, just to make it even more fun. Luke got hand, foot, mouth disease 4 days before we were supposed to leave. I was SO hesitant going. The docs gave us the "go ahead", claiming that Luke was only "mildly contagious"...through saliva. Hmm.. that made the decision really hard. Luckily, John and Ellice were troopers and said it was worth the risk for us to come and play. We officially decided late the night before to go. Craziness.

Unfortunately, we couldn't get our flights to match up with Grammie's and I ended up flying solo with my two kids. Yikes. That's a LOT of work. The first flight, Luke was awful... and I was so paranoid.. especially with him looking SO terrible.. his sores everywhere. I didn't want people to think we were bringing chickenpox aboard. Anyway, the second flight, the kiddos passed out.. and slept most of it. Phew! The only thing was, Mylie's car seat didn't make it. It was a bummer!

Because of the car seat situation, we spent our first day close to home. The kids played and were so excited to see each other. I spent the first part of the trip trying to keep Luke away from the kids and sanitizing everything he touched. :)

Ellice and I decided to go on a little run and get some of the munchkins out of the house. Grammie held down the fort while Luke napped and had some quality time with Abby. We headed to a park nearby to burn some energy. Can I just tell you how horrible it is to run in Texas!! The humidity was awful. Poor Ellice. How does she run in that? I'll tell you what... we didn't do it again the entire trip.

These two cuties loved the swing...

And so did this guy. He didn't even mind when we forgot about him for a sec. :)

Mylie was having some serious "booty sticking" issues. She only wears dresses these days and wasn't used to tucking it under herself. We have some hilarious video clips.

Dallin was seriously crazy!! He did some crazy jump and caught serious air. Again, we have some great footage. Hilarious.

That night we ventured out to Red Robin... 5 kids 6 and under (yikes!)... to celebrate Abby's graduation. She was so thrilled. I'm so impressed with how smart this little girl is and how dedicated her Mama was at home school. Nice work you two!

John did such a great job with the kids. He's amazing and Mylie simply loves him to death!

Can I just tell you how much these little grandkids love their Grammie?! It's so cute. Grammie was such a life saver and helped me juggle my two babies. Luke had a hard time at dinner.. little did we know, he just needed a balloon. :)
