Happy Birthday to me!

Hello 27! :) My birthday was seriously awesome. Justin offered to take all the kid "shifts" Saturday night and I slept in the guest room. Probably the first time I've had a serious full night sleep since Luke's been born. It was amazing!! Best gift ever! I told him that Mylie could come down and wake me up in the morn. So... she entered the room and said, "It's your birthday, Mom! I'm going to sing to you!" We headed upstairs and she sang Happy Birthday with her Dad. It was SO cute. Made my heart melt.

Justin kicked off the morning with chunky cinnamon french toast and caramel syrup. It was fabulous! He's such a good cook when he attempts it. Loved it! Didn't you hear that birthdays are calorie free??

We spent the morning hanging as a family and then headed to church. Justin took Luke for all the meetings... another break for me. Then after church we headed to Olive Garden to gorge ourselves once again. Of course it was yummy-- Luke was awesome and Mylie.. well.. she wasn't, but that was to be expected. Justin and Mylie baked a German chocolate cake.. which was delish and we ate some more. Seriously.. love food. It's a problem!

It was so fun receiving tons of calls, emails and texts from family and friends. Special thanks to everyone for thinking of me. I was smiles all day! Part of that was the full night sleep I think. I kept telling Justin how much easier it is to be more patient when you've had sleep. Gotta get more of that!

And don't you worry... the birthday fun isn't over yet. Thanks to Grammie who is flying down for the weekend, so that Justin and I can take a couples getaway. It will be the first time leaving the kids overnight... ever. We haven't been alone overnight since Mylie was born. So strange. We're excited! And.. thanks to Papa for sending me and the kids to Texas to visit Ellice's gang the beginning of June. We're thrilled!! I needed a break from my mommy routine and you guys nailed it.

And thanks to Gerri and Steve who spoiled me once again with love and spending money for our trip! :)

Obviously, Mylie was a little more excited about the photo op than Luke was! Probably because she's squeezing just a little too hard! :)

Basically, I'm the luckiest girl in the world. I have a thoughtful husband who works so hard for our family, who always tries to lighten my load even though he's carrying a heavy one too.... I have the two most darling kids in the world... sometimes they're a handful.. but they're my handful and I love them for that... I have a loving extended family who supports and loves me and I feel it... and I have the gospel which allows me to be with all of them forever! Simply perfect.
