Lagoon

There's one time a year that working for McCann Erickson pays off... the summer work party! We look forward to it every year.  For the past 7 years, it's been at Snowbird and we've enjoyed the alpine slide, chair lifts and etc.  This year they decided to switch things up and we headed to Lagoon.  Our kids have been buzzing about Legoland since last year and we knew they were going to be in heaven.

McCann hooked us up with everything from tickets.. parking.. a private pavilion with unlimited drinks, a candy bar, face painting, children's gifts, dinner, dessert and raffles.  It was beyond awesome.

Well, all but the temperature.  It was a scorcher and I'll go ahead and say it.. I was a trooper! :)

Mylie could ride pretty much any ride she wanted... which worked out really well because she's our little thrill seeker.  Simply fearless.  She tackled one of the biggest rides in the park.. Wicked.  This ride scares grown adults.  Her biggest complaint was that the harness hurt her legs.  Funny girl.

Luke on the other hand, was limited in his ride selection because of his height... but to be honest, the poor guy doesn't even like swinging high on a swing.

We started off at the Ferris wheel, which was exactly Luke's speed and then headed to some rides for Mylie. I stayed on the sidelines with Luke while these two enjoyed getting bounced around.
This is how Luke felt about all the waiting...
We tried to find rides that he'd enjoy... but even on this one, he had his tiny arms wrapped as far as they could reach around my big belly... and he was squeezing tight!! He hates the fluttering feeling, which doesn't really mesh well with amusement park rides. Darn it.
We found these fun little bumper cars which he loved! How cute is that face?? That was until he got stuck against the wall and couldn't find his way off of it, which resulted in nonstop tears.
After a couple hours of rides, we headed to the pavilion to cool down and for some face paint.
The butterfly in all her glory...
And her sidekick spiderman.
Quite the dynamic duo if you ask me! Those painters are seriously talented.
By the end of the night, after Luke's many tearful incidents on the bumper cars, his face ended up looking more like this...

Each child was given a raffle ticket, as well as each employee.  Believe it or not, all of our tickets were winning tickets!! Must have been Justin's luck. :)  We walked away with a Rip Stick and aqua doodle pad for the kids, as well as a $25 amex gift card.

We were keeping our fingers crossed for the iPad, but we still scored.  Mylie was in need of a bigger bike, so we ended up taking the Rip Stick back and getting her a new bike.  Score us!

We ended up closing down the park.  It was such a fun day and it didn't hurt that it was free.

I'll be honest, I get a little possessive of the time that we have as a family and soak up every minute with this gang of mine. Sure loved this day together!
