Backyard camp out

With all the wildfires we've had this year, fires up the canyon have been extremely limited.  We usually camp every summer, but camping is no fun if you can't have a fire!! Not to mention, cold!

So, we decided to have a little camp out in our backyard instead.  The kids were elated!

Setting up camp..
What great helpers we have!
I love how the set up just adds to the excitement and anticipation.
Even more than that... I love watching Luke watch his dad.  He sure loves him.
After set up was complete, we grabbed all of our pillows and blankets and set up our beds...
And had a little fun in the process too.

It was a warm evening and I'm pretty sure we didn't even need blankets at all. We had some blankets down for padding, but unfortunately, it wasn't enough for me and my nerve pain and I ended up calling it quits around 11:30pm.  My bed never felt so comfortable!

Then around 12:30, Justin and the kiddos found their way back inside as well.  The city sprinklers came on and were beyond noisy.  Mylie was wide awake, as was Justin, so they headed in.  Luke was dead to the world, and luckily, transferred right to his bed without a problem.

It was a fun little adventure while it lasted! :)

Our ward camp out is in a month... we'll see how that one goes.
