Luke's birthday weekend was quite the whirlwind! The Wirthlins were in transition moving from NYC to Houston... stopping in Utah to baptize Abby. Grammie, Grandpa T and the uncles were in transition moving from Washington to Florida, and Papa and Debbie came into town for the Abby's baptism. Phew! Yes.. it was crazy! We were here, there and everywhere... and luckily fit in time to celebrate the biggest littlest guy we know.
Because of all of the baptism festivities, we actually celebrated Luke's birthday over a few days.
Friday afternoon, we started decorating the house.
Luke was beyond excited... running around.. loving all of his decorations. He loved all the balloons scattered everywhere and kept exclaiming, "It's my birthday!!" His favorite decorations were these stick-on super hero decals. He loved placing each one... and I love that they're reusable! :)
Friday night, we decided to have pizza at the park. His favorite meal, with his favorite.. 'special drink'. We feasted, opened presents and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Yum! Luke had fun celebrating with his cousins... who we don't get to see very often.
These cuties..
these ones...
and these ones.. all joined in the fun.
Justin did enough running for the both of us... and the kids were on cloud 9.
Luke loved opening presents... and wanted more and more and more. Gotta love that face!
After the fun at the park, we headed to Mulligans for some putt putt. Think we took mostly video.. but Luke LOVED it. He'd show as much excitement over getting his own ball in the hole, as he did when everyone sunk it in. He had a great time! Afterwards, we came home and celebrated with ice cream sundaes, before bed.
Luke was able to open new spider man jammies the night before his birthday, and woke up in them. He was super stoked about life. His birthday breakfast consisted of his favorite muffins and juice-- we didn't have too much time before the baptism.
After the baptism festivities, we met up with Papa and Debbie and headed down to Kangaroo Zoo.. one of our kids' favorite places. It was nice to have extra 'able' bodies to play and have fun with the kids. I think we took mostly video and only a couple shots with the small camera. But.. at least you can tell how much fun this guy was having...
Papa and Mylie.. having a great time..
Once the kids started to get hungry, we headed home for the annual neighborhood crawdad party. A perfect way to end the day. The kids ran around with friends and played until late in the evening. We enjoy a yummy potluck and mingling with neighbors.
I'm pretty impressed with all that we were able to fit in, in those couple days. Luke was beaming.. both days. He loved the attention and the extra love from everyone.
He's pretty big stuff now.. just ask him.. he's three! :)
