Mother's Day Weekend

Gorgeous flowers from my man...

Mother's Day weekend was pretty hectic but fun. Josh and Kendra decided to fly in for the weekend to visit with the family and their friends. It was so fun to have them here. The kids were in heaven. It just reminds us how much we miss having them close.

Saturday morning, after I ran Race for the Cure, we had a bunch of friends over that wanted to see J&K while they were in town. It was a gorgeous day. We grilled and played outside. The kids had a ball with all their little friends that came over.

After the BBQ, Luke woke up from his nap super cranky. We couldn't get him to calm down. We decided to look in his mouth... sure enough, he had Hand, Foot, Mouth disease. We were shocked! And then we felt SO guilty, having all those kids at our house! Luckily they played outside most the time. I didn't enjoy calling around and informing parents.

The kids surprised me in bed Sunday morning with a special book for us to read. Justin also got me the book, Greater Things by Jeffrey R. Holland. I love it! I had to teach the combined YW lesson on Sunday.. what's up with that?! On Mother's Day? I was really looking forward to a break. Oh well. I wasn't able to go to sacrament meeting, because of our sick kids, so Justin went because he had to take care of Sunday school business. I headed to church during Sunday school, and we left the kids with J&K for about 15 mins until Justin could get home. It was a pretty crazy day! We finished the night off with honey lime enchiladas and strawberry shortcake.

I'm so grateful to our mothers-- who sacrificed so much for us. It takes being a mother to appreciate one and each new phase I enter with our children, I appreciate my own mother more. I'm blessed to have two beautiful children who bring so much joy and happiness in my life. They teach me everyday about love, patience and sacrifice.

Josh and the kiddos before they left for the airport...

Josh & Kendra with their biggest fans... don't even ask what Luke is doing.. I'm really not sure. :)

J&K left Monday morning and we were sure sad to see them go! Thanks J&K for spending so much time with us! You're welcome back anytime!!
