The day before Nana and Papa were supposed to leave, they received a call from President Uchtdorf's office wanting to set up a video conference with them. Steve surprised them and told them they were actually in Utah visiting family. Since they were in town, the secretary invited them down to meet with President Uchtdorf in person. They had the interview hours before they flew home the next day. Can you imagine receiving that call and meeting with President Uchtdorf??
Steve and Gerri were called as the new Temple President and Matron for the Columbia South Carolina Temple! We're in the clear to share, since it's been officially announced by the Church. :)
We are beyond thrilled for them. They are an amazing couple and I love them dearly!! They are more than qualified for the job and I know the Lord will magnify their talents and abilities. We're excited to see them again when they come to SLC for training in October.
