Rewards!!

Mylie's nightmares and general fears at night were starting to seriously wear on this mom. Especially, with Luke being up multiple times a night-- between the two of them, I was up every couple hours! Not fair. We decided to create a reward system for Mylie-- if she slept and stayed in her bed for 5 nights, we'd get her a music triangle (a serious obsession of hers.) This also meant not even coming in our room when she was scared. We encouraged her to pray and sing Primary songs. Sure enough.. after a month or so, we finally hit 5 nights!

When it was reward time, I couldn't find a triangle anywhere! I visited and called numerous stores with no luck. I hesitated ordering one online for the time that it would take to actually to arrive. What a let down that would be! But after having no luck, I ordered one.

Luckily, Mylie kept up her new sleeping habits waiting for the triangle to arrive... and she was just as excited when it came in the mail. A cause for celebration at this house!

Opening the package...blurry.. but you get the idea...

Giving it a go...

Of course, I had to order two! We're definitely entering the stage where both kids need the same thing. Mylie is always wanting Luke's gifts/toys and vise versa. Making music together...

I honestly can't say I LOVE having a two music triangles in the house... ringing constantly... but it makes these kiddos happy... which makes this mom happy. :) I'll take the noise from music triangles over fighting and contention any day.

Who would have thought getting those triangles would be so hard? I have like three of them but now that I think about it they were all gifts. Glad they saved me from the search and glad you are sleeping again! ;)

So glad you are finally getting some sleep again! That is so random she loves music triangles! Ha ha! Where did she get that from? I am glad it worked out for you though, she looks so excited to open it! I hope Brielle does not start having those because she has been starting to scream in her sleep lately and once last week did not want to go back to sleep (which she NEVER has done before) Guess ill be asking for advice on that too!

Hooray for Mylie!! She worked so hard... and really deserved that triangle. So glad you were able to find one (two)! What a big girl! Fingers crossed she continues to stay in her bed and sleep well :).
