Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day was bittersweet at this house. Papa was in town and we were oh-so excited to share the holiday together. Mylie came down with a high fever and a nasty cold and cough on Saturday and we were up a lot with her that night-- she even puked a couple times. We were hoping she'd wake up healthy and happy.

Unfortunately, Mylie wasn't better. She rested while I made heart-shaped french toast and pink scrambled eggs (which turned out more orange than pink! lol)

Even though Papa and Dad weren't up yet, we decided to open some of her Valentine surprises-- attempting to lift her spirits. It worked for a little while. There was even a box of chocolates for Papa and Dad. We had WAY too many treats at this house!

The Valentines I made for my 13 Beehives! They were pretty excited. Needless to say, they were really good during my lesson! :)

Papa and Luke taking a break after a yummy morning.

Mylie and Papa killing a little time before church. Yes, we did take Mylie to church after she seemed to be a bit better-- once her meds kicked in. Unfortunately, she got worse again during sacrament meeting. After the meeting, she headed home for a nap with Papa, while Justin and I stayed to fulfill our callings.

We finished the day off with a yummy dinner-- steaks, pasta, asparagus. YUM! It was fun to share this day together. Mylie had a good time, despite being a sick little thing. More fun with Papa still to come...

Special thanks to everyone who sent Mylie and Luke little Valentines. They feel SO loved. And of course to Papa who came and shared the holiday with us. We love you!

It still looked like a wonderful Valentine's day - despite the sickness :). She is still so cute when she is sick... love the pic of her on the coach. I think that is the quietest I have ever seen her :).

I love the heart shaped french toast.... what a cute idea! And the YW handout.... fabulous! Looks like you all had a wonderful day! We love you!

You are such a fun mom. I love all your creative ideas. You rock. I had lots of good intentions this year . . . but life got in the way. :) There is always next year right? :)
