Christmas was magical this year. Mylie is at such a fun age and was really excited about the idea of Santa leaving presents, all his reindeer, and all the songs associated with the holiday. We were singing constantly at this house! We loved being able to stay home this year and enjoy it together. I'm bummed though...I didn't get too many photos... we were honestly relishing every minute. We played and played all day long!
It was especially exciting being Luke's first Christmas!! Even though he didn't "get it".. he loved his gift from Santa. Luke started cheesing it up the minute we put him in his new Bumbo. He loves being able to sit by himself. Could his smile get any bigger?
Mylie's first concern was "Brown". She wanted to know where he was the instant we came to the family room and she saw her presents. We insisted that she looked around and sure enough Santa left it in her stocking. She's pretty much a fan of Santa now! Here she is loving every little bit! I'm not quite sure what would've happen if Santa didn't leave "Brown".
Don't worry... Santa didn't forget Tink. She loved her new toy, treats and soft food.
Mylie really got the hang of opening presents! She loved it. Of course she was completely spoiled by her grandparents, so she was a busy girl! Dad and Mylie taking time to read one of her new books.
We took a break after opening a few presents and enjoyed our breakfast feast. A breakfast casserole, tea ring and lots of yummy fruit. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Well.. Justin and I did. Mylie informed us, "No eating...Mylie play with horses."
I'm still no pro at the tea ring thing... but I'm working on it. I was so frusterated this year. It was the first time baking it at this elevation and it definitely gave me some troubles. At least one turned out edible! Woohoo! I need to start practicing for next year.
I did most of the shopping for Christmas and had most of the ideas... just because I have a lot more time than Justin does. My cute hubby started to feel a little left out..not because I didn't include him in it, just because he wanted to think of something on his own. He decided on getting Mylie a mini tramp because she's been having jumping withdrawals this winter. It was a hit!!! Mylie was elated. Smart Dad!
Morning tea party
Justin completely surprised me with this gorgeous picture of the Portland Temple, where we were married. I love it!! It totally matches our decor and it is perfect in every way. How thoughtful is that?!
Josh and Kendra were planning to join us for Christmas dinner, but Josh got really sick Christmas Eve. So, we did it solo. We had a fun candlelit dinner as a family--yummy smoked turkey, twice-baked potatoes, Martinellis and more. Notice "Brown" ate with us! :)
All in all it was one quiet Christmas. Everyone needs a Christmas like this every once in a while! It's relaxing and wonderful.
