Somehow this past year slipped away from me. I just realized today that I didn't do my traditional 'love list' for Mylie on her birthday last year... and I didn't even post about it.
It must have been the transition to three kids that put my blog on the bottom of the 'to do list'.
That and another colicky baby.
I've committed to be better this year! I'm praying I can relive those memories. Hopefully, by looking at pictures, those details will come back to me as I try to document what I do remember!
You tell yourself you'll never forget these precious moments, but the truth is.. they slip through your fingers.
I've recommitted to blogging instead of posting in the social media world.
I'm afraid that Instagram started the slow death of my blog. No more!
So.. my sweet Mylie.. I celebrate who you are and who you are becoming!
Every little part of you brings days full of joy and wonder.
You're turning into such a beautiful person.. inside and out.
7 years ago, you made me a mom and I've been changed for the better ever since.
7 years ago, you made me a mom and I've been changed for the better ever since.
Here are just a few of the things that I love about our Mylie...
I love...
*her sweet disposition and her desire to please.
*the notes and pictures she creates daily. They're always filled with darling pictures and such sweet words.
*her desire to participate in scripture study every night. She's anxious to share what she knows and she's just as anxious to learn.
*her crazy laugh.. the uncontrollable one that has us all laughing too
*that she includes everyone and never wants anyone to feel left out or alone
*all her girlishness.. she loves having her nails done, lip gloss on and dressing fancy. However, she does not like to be patient for fancy hair.
*what an amazing big sister she is. She includes Luke and Ethan in everything.. from play dates to imaginary games.
*her tenderness.. she hates hurting others and takes it to heart when she does
*the gratitude she's constantly expressing. I'm thanked numerous times a day for helping her, making her food, etc. She embodies gratitude.
*her memory, that she uses to help remind us about family scripture study and prayers before the kids leave for school. She is such a force for good!
*her love of sleep. I just wish she would sleep in every now and again. But bedtime is a dream with this girl. It wasn't always this way.
*her love of running. This girl would run and race all day every day. I wish she could share that love with me.
*her artistic ability and imagination. Drawing, coloring and creating things are apart of her daily activities. She'll spend hours upon hours creating.
*her toothlessness.. she's lost 8 teeth to date and is still missing her top 4 teeth! Eating can be a challenge, but this girl loves some tooth fairy loot, so it's all worth it!
*snuggling together. It's one of our favorite things to do together. She loves to have her back or arms scratched.
*that she loves school so much... especially her teacher, Ms. Willmore. This tender girl needed a special teacher and it's been the perfect match this year.
*her excitement to share about her day. She knows our routine of going through her backpack while she has an afternoon snack. She's always so good to share stories from school, who she played with and etc.
*her love of music.. she's constantly singing or dancing.. and we love it!
*that she's aware of what's going on around her. She's the first to offer a hug when someone feels down, to lend a hand when someone's stressed and to help her brothers when we're busy.
There are so very many reasons to love this sweet girl of mine! These are only a few.
We can't wait to see what the next year brings.
Mylie can't wait to be baptized and we're looking forward to all the spiritual preparations this year.
