South Carolina '09

We had the best time in SC visiting Justin's parents!! It was the exact opposite experience of the year prior.. thank goodness! Mylie was healthy, happy and thoroughly enjoyed herself... as did we.

We spent the first full day at the beach and loved every second. The weather was perfect and we knew our beach babe would have a blast! Her favorite thing to do was probably run down the beach. We all know how this girl loves to run.
It's even more fun when she gets to run on Dad's shoulders and he does all the work!

She loved the sand... as expected. Mylie has been calling every little patch of dirt and sand in Utah a "beach". It was nice to finally remind her what a beach really is! :)
Mylie loved chasing the seagulls... it was funny because she actually thought she'd be able to catch one... and we know how persistent this little girl is!
Mylie LOVED every minute!

Mylie spent HOURS reading and playing with Nana. It was really amazing how long she'd sit on her lap. I'm lucky if she'll sit for more than 2 books with me... but whatever it is.. Nana's got it! It was so fun to watch them bond. Mylie really loves her Nana.

Of course Nana had lots of new and fun things to play with. This little dress-up bear puzzle is adorable!

Mylie loved her Papa too! Mylie loved playing ball with Papa and many other games.

Papa even went up into the attic and pulled down the famous "rooster" toy! It took a day for Mylie to give it a go, but when she tried it, she was addicted. She rocked and rocked away. I can't remember how old they said it was... definitely over 50 years old...

I'll have to admit... I'm not a fan of the humidity... at all. To be honest, I'm quite the humidity wimp. Part of it has to do with the fact that I'm SO ugly in it! :) Crazy flat hair.. greasy.. sweaty.. yuck!! I told Justin that we can't live in the south, because I'm an ugly wife there... but maybe we can have a beach house there someday! It was really funny to see Mylie's hair.. she has a natural wave/curl from her Dad... and it really came out down there. This is her hair in a pony tail.. funny!

Justin and his dad, Steve worked almost all Memorial Day on this shed. I know they had a great time working together and I was supportive from inside the house. They were literally soaked... gotta love that humidity!

Mylie and Nana.. singing songs... they both love music!

We also had a great time catching up with old friends. We spent some fun times with the Holcombes, Christensens and Robinsons! We miss them and wish we lived closer so our kids could play. I was a slacker and didn't get any pics with them!

All in all, it was a fabulous trip! It was so fun to spend so much time with Justin's parents and friends. It was relaxing and so great. Gerri and Steve, thanks again for a wonderful time! We love and miss you!! We'll see you in a month!

We miss you guys too and hope to see you in Utah next week. Gerrie is the best and what a lucky girl Mylie is to have her as a Nana!

Sounds like you had a wonderful vacation. And I agree, the humidity is a bummer.
