Detox

One of my friends (also the YW pres) is a fitness guru. She is one of three awesome fitness instructors in our ward who teach a workout class 2 days a week at the church.  It's really beyond amazing.  Not some rinky dink class.. it's a hard core.. work your tail off.. grunt and cry out in pain class. Seriously.  They are so wonderful.. donating their time to help us be fit and healthy.  Love them.

It's so much more fun to sweat and suffer alongside good company. The kids run wild and we burn some serious calories.  Love it.

She went on a detox or cleanse diet and it's spreading like wildfire through our ward.  I caught the itch and started it too!

A 21-day detox.. gluten-free, dairy-free and sugar-free.. with limited fruits, veggies and protein.  Wowsers.  I didn't realize how much I LOVE dairy! I've come to grips with the fact that I'm a carb junkie, but I guess I'm a dairy junkie too.  Man alive.  I have some issues.

Anyway, after a week I decided to throw in the towel.  Don't let that fool you into think I'm a quitter.. because I'm not. I wanted to give it a week, check the results and decide if it was right for me.

I wasn't able to lose the last 5 lbs that I wanted, but I'm sure I got rid of some serious toxins.  Best news, my stomach problems have gone away.  Amazing.  I'm not sure if it's the gluten or dairy that send my stomach into a tailspin, but I'm going to get the blood work done and find out!

I learned a lot about healthy alternatives that I can implement into my every day cooking and snacking.

The best thing I learned... I can do hard things!! I have the will power.  I seriously question my will power sometimes.. but I got it.  I didn't even cheat once.  Definitely a sense of accomplishment.

Go me!

WOW- I wish we had someone like that in our ward! I would love a good, free work-out twice a week! Good for you!
