What can I say... our little family simply had the BEST mini-vacation ever! Our first vacation "just" our family since our hiking disaster when Mylie was 4 months. What a different trip this was. We headed down to Vegas on Thursday night and stayed until Sunday-- it was so nice to "check out" for a while and just spend some time enjoying one another. Vegas was so fun and affordable! There is SO much to see and do that's free-- gotta love that!
A frequent expression... Mylie bewildered by all the lights, toys, and etc. What a fun place!
The resort that we stayed at was amazing! Thanks, Mom for letting us use your timeshare!! It was still on Las Vegas Blvd... just enough south of the strip to feel like we "left". They had 5 pools and a lazy river!! We loved the kids wading pool that was fenced in, allowing Mylie to roam around and go in and out as much as she wanted. The lazy river was relaxing and we loved that Mylie just sat with us! We spent started and ended our days with fun in the pool. We wish we had more time to swim, swim, swim!
M&M World was really fun too and Mylie enjoyed it. We got to watch a 3D movie that Mylie loved and she even got to leave with a purple M&M crayon! Mylie wouldn't wear the glasses for the 3D movie.. but laughed and enjoyed it despite the whole screen being blurry! (Mylie wasn't too fond of being picked up and having to take a pic... too bad.)
One of Mylie's favorite places was the FAO Schwartz Toy Store. Three levels of heaven is what this place was. Mylie obsessed over the life-size stuffed animals and she absolutely LOVED the larger than life piano that she could run across and play. We were excited when we found a bucket of her favorite things... rocks! She was able to hand pick her own rocks and fill up a bag. The best ever! The saddest moment was taking her off of the video arcade car game.. she was obsessed with that as well. This girl needs a car!
Vegas' Town Square is the coolest place ever and we'd never heard of it. It's south of the strip and fairly new. It's a HUGE outdoor mall and makes the Gateway look like Provo Town Center! My favorite part was the kids play area in the middle--- they literally had houses, a maze, things to ride on, water fountain and etc. We found this our last night there and wish we knew about it sooner. Mylie was hilarious with the water fountain.. she was so curious.. and she'd venture in.. but then get stuck. You'll have to check out the video. Another highlight of Town Square was Yogurtland-- the best frozen yogurt EVER and it had crazy awesome flavors... we tried pineapple, kiwi, peach and mango. We're craving it like crazy!
I love watching the Bellagio water show and it was a bummer that we weren't able to see it at night because of Mylie's bedtime. We still wanted Mylie to see it... her favorite combination... water and music! She wasn't as into it as we thought...it would've been cooler at night! Here they are... waiting for the show.
A funny side note... people were obsessed with Mylie's hiking back pack...like they had never seen anything like it! It cracked us up! We loved it because Mylie was so high and could see so much.... saying "hiiieee" to everyone we passed! Anyway, we had a blast, but we are happy to be home... back in our own beds.. and reunited with Tink. Tink has been extremely patient with Mylie since we've been home... I think she may have missed the torturing! :)
Stay tuned for video clips from the trip...
