We have a land line that I use solely for work-- calling insurance companies and etc. Occasionally, I'll give the phone to Mylie to play with... she loves to push the buttons. She recently figured out how to push the talk button, making all the numbers actually dial. It hasn't really been a problem, considering she dials a million numbers, none of which are valid. Well I should say... it wasn't a problem until yesterday....
I heard the phone start to ring and I hurried and grabbed it from her and hung it up. After I ended the call, I looked at the numbers that she dialed... 9-1-1! What are the odds?! First of all that she would dial 9-1-1 and then push the talk button, completing the call!? So, of course, the Pleasant Grove police department calls back and verifies our residence, confirming that we did indeed dial 9-1-1. I was completely embarrassed when I had to tell them that I let my daughter play with the phone.
Looks like Mylie won't be playing with the phone anymore!! :)

Oh Bec what a bummer, that's when your face turns red over the phone and no one can even see you! Mylie is a bright one, you have to hand it to her.
I can't believe it.... what a smartie!!! Well at least you know there is someone on the other end of the 9-1-1 call in Pleasant Grove :).
I remember when Abby was a baby and she was playing with my cell phone while I was in the shower and when I got out... she had really dialed someone.... I was so embarrassed too :)
No worries... I am sure it wasn't the first call 911 has had from a child ... maybe not from a baby, though :).
I'm sitting here laughing only because it brings back memories of Joel. It's SO embarrassing when that kind of stuff happens. When Joel was like 4ish, every Sat. AM he'd get up really early. Head for the kitchen and just dial the number on the big red sticker!! (911) They could never keep him on the line long enough to trace it until early one morning... Yikes the big red truck showed up at our house. Embarrassing but I think Joel maybe learned...or maybe not!!! LOL. Mylie is adorable and getting bigger in every picture. What a little doll....even if she does call 911. What a smarter..
